Examining a Navy/Curtiss Flying Boat. This is NC-4, the only flying boat to complete the 1919 transoceanic journey from Long Island, New York to Portugal. Three NC flying boats left New York on May 8, 1919. NC 1 and 3 were damaged during landings and did not complete the journey. NC-4 landed in Portugal on May 27, 1919. Commander A.C.
