      Another Great Seaman Gone:
      Sea Stories
Dennis Dalton Davis of Kelly, North Carolina formally of Riegelwood, North Carolina was born Feb. 21st 1948. Dennis joined the United States Navy at the age of 18. Dennis, served his Country Honorably and with Pride during the Vietnam War. Dennis took his Basic Training at Great Lakes, Ill. . After completing his training he became a crew member aboard the U.S.S Kitty Hawk where he served the remainder of his service with Honor and Pride. Dennis left his Family, Friends and Shipmates to join his Lord and Savior on October 18th 2019. Dennis served his God just as proudly as he served his Country. He was very Proud of his time spent serving his Country just as he was of his Family and Friends. Dennis loved his Wife and Children. He was the proud father of his two Son's and one Daughter. After growing up by the Cape Fear River in Columbus County, North Carolina he loved to Fish and Hunt. Dennis loved sharing stories of his time spent serving his country aboard his Lady the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. One story that comes to mind is when he got just a little to close to one of the Planes on the Ship and the powerful wind from the motor's blew him off the Ship. He would laugh about this mistake and having to be rescued by his crew members. Dennis was a very fun loving person that never met a stranger. Rest In Peace my Dear Brother. I know you will enjoy Sailing the Beautiful Seas of Heaven.

Trying to find Father's Naval history.
      Everything Else
I am trying to find out anything and everything I can about my father's Naval history. All I know is he served aboard the USS Kitty Hawk in the early 70's. Pre 73 at least. My dad's name was Philip Jay Carlton Jr. He lived in Morgan Hill, CA and was stationed out of San Diego. He passed away 10 years ago. All his records, medals, flag etc were lost in the Camp Fire of Northern California.
